Youth, brother get 10 years in jail for rape

The 23-year-old victim was raped by Gopal and his brother Devender at Nagla village here in 2006, prosecutor Pushpender Malik said.

In the court of Additional District Sessions judge Syed Hussain, Gopal claimed that the two had eloped and the young woman was his wife.

However, the court rejected his plea and awarded the sentence while also imposing a fine of Rs 5,000 each on the brothers.
