Congress MLA and All India Youth Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring apologised in the state Assembly here today for his certain remarks that were construed to be anti-Sikh and personal comments against Virsa Singh Valtoha of the Akali Dal.
With pandemonium prevailing over the issue during debate on Governor's address, Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal adjourned the House for 15 minutes as apology extended by Congress Legislature Party chief Charanjit Singh Channi failed to mollify the Akalis.
Most of the words exchanged during the heated exchanges between treasury and opposition benches were expunged by the Speaker.
Ministers Tota Singh and Sikander Singh Maluka and Voltoha pressed for personal apology from Raja Warring.
