Four Youth Congress activists were today arrested here for waiving black flags at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's motorcade this evening in protest against exclusion of Chief Minister Ommen Chandy from a statue unveiling function.

As the PM's motorcade was reaching the venue of a function where Modi later unveiled the statue of former chief minister R Sankar, the YC workers managed to wave the black flags and also released in air some balloons tied with black flags despite the presence of police personnel in large numbers.

Youth Congress activists were protesting the exclusion of Chandy from the statue unveiling function.

A group of activists also held a fast in front of Sankar's statue at Chinnakada in the heart of Kollam town. Youth wing workers of RSP also protested.
