The Indian Youth Congress today held a protest against the issues of farmers and increase in power tariff at the district headquarters here.

The members of the youth Congress led by state president and MLA Ashok Chandna gathered at a market and staged a demonstration.

They then marched towards the collectorate where they demanded that the district collector come outside the collectorate to receive their memorandum.

"When they tried to create nuisance, they were dispersed using water cannon," Circle Officer Sikar City Surendra Sharma said.

He said that mild force was used to disperse the mob and clear the area.

Congress members alleged that the police used force and its members were injured in the action. However, the police denied having resorted to cane charge.
