Raising anti-Modi slogans, several activists of the youth Congress today held a protest in Jammu against the price rise of essential commodities and burned the effigy of the ruling BJP.

The youth Congress activists today gathered outside the Jammu press club where they set on fire the effigy of the ruling BJP government while raising anti-BJP slogans.

"See the prices of essential commodities are sky-rocketing, a common man is unable to make his ends meet, this government which made several promises before coming to power has miserably failed to control the price hike", a youth Congress activist said.

He said that the prices of onion, pulses and rice have gone beyond the reach of common man in the country.

Wearing the garlands made of onions, the youth activists also tried to stop the cavalcade of the Union Minister of state Jitendra Singh after he came out of the press club after attending a function there however the police stopped the Congress activists from stopping the cavalcade of the Union Minister.

The activists protested for sometime and later disbursed on their own.
