Youth dies after suffering pellet injuries in forest area

A 21-year old man, found unconscious with pellet injuries in his head in a forest area, died at a hospital here today.

K Muniraj of Vettaiyampatti village in the district succumbed to the pellet injuries at the Medical College Hospital even as doctors were planning a surgery after finding six pellets in the head, police said.

He was found lying down with head injuries in the forest area near Panchappali Dam, where he had gone to graze his goats, by passersby who rushed him to a nearby primary health centre last evening.

After first aid, he was shifted to a private hospital in Hosur and referred to the medical college hospital here around midnight yesterday, police said.
 

Police suspect poachers or other anti-social elements might have attacked him.
