A 22-year-old youth died when the motorcycle he was traveling by got hit by a speeding van on Fariha road in Kotwali Awagarh, police said today.
The deceased has been identified as Gopi Chand, resident of village Mumiakhera of Kotwali Nidholikalan. The accident took place yesterday when the youth was hit by a speeding Max (van) causing him serious injuries, they said.
He was admitted to a hospital here, after which doctors sent him to medical college in Agra as his condition was stated to be serious, police added.
But while on his way to Agra, Chand succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The unidentified Max (van) driver fled the accident spot but an FIR has been lodged against him, police said adding, no arrests have been made so far in this connection.
