A 22-year-old youth today drowned in Krishna canal at Padavalarevu in Krishna district, police said.
The incident took place when an agriculture labour M Rajesh was returning to his house from his field, Koduru police station sub-inspector Y Sudhakar said.
En-route he halted and went for a bath. At this time, he slipped into the canal and eventually drowned, the officer said, adding his body was traced.
According to police, a case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered and investigation are underway.
