A 17-year-old youth from Jharkhand
drowned after falling in a canal near Nanta under Kunhadi police station, police said.
The incident occurred last evening when Sidharth Tiwari, resident of Pathor area of Jharkhand, had gone for a picnic with three of his friends, SHO Rajesh Soni said.

The four were consuming beer, sitting on the slope at the canal, when Sidharth fell down after losing balance and was instantly swept away, the SHO said.
The boy had been taking coaching for entrance exams at an institute here and was staying in a rented accommodation in Mahaveernagar area of Kota city, the SHO further said.
A rescue operation was started to recover the body from the canal soon after the incident last evening, he said.
Meanwhile in Bundi, the body of a 29-year-old mentally challenged youth was recovered yesterday from Dhabhayo ka Kund (stepped pond) on Lanka Gate road in city Kotwali area.
Chandrashakher Mahajan, a resident of Karoli district, was staying with his sister in Bundi and undergoing treatment, police said.
Police suspect that Mahajan is likely to have fallen into the pond accidently on Saturday night.
The body was handed over to family members after postmortem yesterday, police added.
