An unidentified youth has allegedly tried to molest a girl student after he entered the hostel of a residential school in Uttar Pradesh's Balrampur district and managed to flee, police said today.
The incident took place late last night at Dehat area here when the girl raised an alarm after the accused attempted to molest her. Hearing this, other students attacked the youth during which two inmates were injured as he retaliated, they said, adding that that accused has managed to escape.
Protesting at the hostel gates, the girls alleged that the inmates are being sexually exploited by outsiders in connivance with the hostel staffs, cops said.
The students also demanded to go back home, they added.
On the complaint of the inmates, hostel in charge Shiv Charan and warden Monica have been removed, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Keshavdas said.
An FIR has been registered and the inquiry was handed over to SDM and circle officer, the ADM said, adding that stern action would be taken once the report was submitted.
