A youth allegedly hacked to death a 12-year-old boy before committing suicide by hanging in a coffee plantation at a village in Wayanad district today, police said.
The deceased were identified as Vijaya Prasad (24) and Atul Krishna (12), both natives of Anjukunnu near Panamaram in the district.
The incident took place this morning when the boy had gone to purchase milk from a nearby shop, they said.
A quarrel between Vijaya Prasad and the boy's father, K C Mohanan, who is also his relative, led to the murder, police said.
