Having failed to complete his B.Tech degree and finding it difficult to make both ends meet, Yogesh accepted to appear for the exam in place of one Pradeep for the money, a senior police official said.
Yogesh, who hails from Jind district in Haryana, was caught at the Malviya Nagar examination centre yesterday after the invigilator heard the sound of a mobile phone.
The invigilator found that the sound emanated from near Yogesh after which he tried to escape but was caught, the official said.
"On his search, they found one Bluetooth Device attached to the mobile phone, 3 passport size photographs and driving license of Pradeep were recovered from his possession," a senior police official said.
On interrogation, it was found that Yogesh was appearing for the exam in place of Pradeep and both of them looked similar in photographs.

"Yogesh took the admission in B.Tech (Computer Science) in the year 2008 at Jind Institute of Engineering & Technology and could not complete his degree. Then, he shifted to Delhi along with his 3 other friends," he said.
All the four were staying in an accommodation in Mukherjee
Nagar and were preparing for examination of Combined Graduate Level (CGL) conducted by SSC.
Since Yogesh was under financial crunch, one Dharmendra contacted him and gave the idea for writing the exam in place of Pradeep, who was known to him. He was promised Rs 70,000 for clearing the exam, the official said.
