A youth was arrested today for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in her house at Virar in Palghar district, police said.
Sabajit Vishwakarma (28), employed with a furniture shop, had known the victim and both of them were residents of Jivdani Road area, said police sub-inspector S S Mhaske.
The alleged incident took place on October 14 and 17 when the girl was alone at house, police said, adding that Vishwakarma also threatened her with dire consequences.
The accused is booked under various sections of IPC besides under sections 3 and 4 of POCSA Act 2012.
