Youth held for raping toddler

A youth has been arrested for allegedly raping a three-and-a-half year old girl in Por village on the outskirts of the city, police said.

The incident took place last evening and the accused, has been identified as Shyamdhar Jaiswal, a native of Rakhdha village of Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh, they said.

Jaiswal, 30, works with the victim's father in a private company in Por.

Parents of the victim had asked the accused to look after their daughter for some time, as they wanted to go to a telephone booth to make a call last evening.

However, when they came back after some time, they saw their daughter crying and there were some injury marks on her body. The accused rushed out of their place.
 

The couple then took the daughter to a nearby clinic, which referred the case to SSG hospital in Vadodara. The girl stated to be in a serious condition.

After admitting her into a hospital, they lodged a complaint against the youth, after which he was arrested.
