A youth has been arrested and 40 pouches of illicit liquor seized in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.
During surprise checking, police arrested Lal Chand and recovered 40 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession near Udhampur bus stand, 66 kms from here, last evening, police said.
He was allegedly transporting the liquor to his native Birwan village in the district, they said.
A case under the Excise Act was registered at Udhampur police station in this connection, they said.
