The quick-thinking and alertness of youth helped police nab a snatcher who was running away after robbing a woman of her purse in Model Town area of north west Delhi, police said today.

The woman Jyoti Manocha was on her way home when she was targetted by the snatcher near Model Town metro station.

Hearing Manocha's cry for help, Afzal chased the snatcher identified as Chandan and caught him following a brief pursuit, DCP of north west district police Vijay Singh said.

Later, Chandan, a resident of MCD Colony in Dhaka village, was handed over to Model Town police station.

Chandan, a Class 12 drop-out and alcoholic, has no previous history of involvement in any crime.

The police will suitably reward Afzal who helped in the arrest of the accused, the officer said.
