While jailing convict Pradeep Kumar Goel, Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) T R Naval also imposed Rs 30,000 as fine on him.
Goel was earlier in November 2010 had been convicted for killing the child by a court in Faridabad, where he had been arrested by the police while trying to dispose the body of the child he had killed.
The Delhi court convicted Goel on charges of kidnapping relying on the evidence and statements of prosecution witnesses.
"On analysing the evidence on record, I come to the conclusion that the prosecution has successfully proved its case against the accused (Goel) beyond suspicion and shadow of reasonable doubts that the accused kidnapped the deceased boy from the legal guardianship of his father...In order to murder him," the court said.
According to the prosecution, Uttam Nagar resident Goel had kidnapped the seven-year-old child of one of his relatives from his house here in October 2009.
After receiving the complaint regarding the missing boy, the police started its probe during which it was revealed that the minor was last seen with Goel on his motorcycle.
The police said they had received an information from their counterparts in Faridabad, Haryana that the accused was apprehended along with the body of a child when he was trying to dispose it off. (More)
