The deceased identified as Damodar was on his way to nursing council to collect his degree when the incident occurred on the bypass near Mansarover locality, police said.
The truck driver fled from the spot.
After the accident, locals demanded that authorities stop the entry of trucks in the areas to curb such incidents, they added.
