Youth killed in road mishap in Gujarat

A 25-year-old youth was killed when the car he was travelling in rammed into a wall of a bungalow and later collided with another vehicle here, police said today.

The mishap occurred late last night in Alkapuri area when Hirak Navalawala, son of Babubhai Navalawala, an adviser of Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on water related issues, was returning home, they said.

Babubhai Navalawala is also the chairman of Task Force on Inter-Linking of River constituted by the Central government.

"Hirak's car rammed into a wall of a bungalow and then it collided with another car coming from opposite direction," Gotri station police inspector M D Puvar told PTI.
 

"While Hirak died on the spot, two other occupants of the car sustained injuries. A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered and investigations are underway", he added.
