Youth killed in road mishap in Mumbai

A 23-year-old youth was killed and two others injured when their bike rammed into a road divider here, police said.

The incident took place in the wee hours near R A Podar Ayurved Medical College in Worli. Three youths - Swagat Lokhande, Krishna Gawde and Viraj (both 22) were going to the Worli sea-face in south Mumbai, an official, attached to Worli police station, said.

Swagat, a resident of Byculla, who was riding got killed on the spot. Krishna and Virat, both Matunga residents, sustained injuries and were admitted to the Nair hospital, the official said, adding Swagat was not wearing a helmet.
 

A case under relevant sections of IPC and Motor Vehicles Act was registered and investigations are underway, police said.
