Three persons stabbed to death a youth they thought was involved in the murder of their relative, in Wazirpur area of northwest Delhi, but was not the person they were looking for.

21-year-old Golu had gone to the market area on Wednesday when the trio approached him and asked his name. As soon as he revealed his name, they allegedly stabbed him to death. However, they later learnt that they were looking for some other Golu, said a police official.

The three alleged killers, Sanjay (19) and two minors, have been apprehended, the official said.

Four persons had killed a youth named Sanjeev Rana in the same area on Sunday. One of the accused's brother's name was Golu, whom Sanjay and the two minors, relatives of Sanjeev, had sought to kill, but ended up killing the wrong person, the official said.

Of the four who killed Sanjeev, two adults were arrested, while two minors are still absconding, he said.
