Mohammad Tarib, a student of Class XII, had gone for tuition last night from where he was taken away by some local people and severely beaten up, blaming him for the battery theft, his family alleged in the police complaint.
Tarib, who was seriously injured, was rushed to district hospital where he died.
A case has been lodged in this regard.
