A youth and his 52-year-old mother were crushed to death by a speeding truck near Satheri village here, police said today.
Mohsin (21) and his mother Hamshida (52) were on way to a wedding last evening when the truck hit their motorcycle, a police official said, adding that the driver is absconding and a search is on for him.
After the incident, locals refused to hand over the bodies to police, demanding immediate arrest of the culprit.
Later, police officials, who visited the spot, pacified the locals and the bodies were then sent for post-mortem.
