The incident took place in the early hours when Subash Agarwal shot his son Subham with his revolver.
Police said initial inquiry has established that the family had been encountering several problems, including that Agarwal had not been working for sometime now.
However, no reason has been ascertained for Agarwal shooting his son. The weapon used in the offence has been seized.
