A 22-year-old youth was shot dead and four others injured in a clash over land-dispute between two groups in Siwal village here, police said today.
According to police, Sukhbir Singh and one Islam, residents of Siwalkhas village here, have been engaged in a dispute over 20 bigha land since the past few days.
The dispute took a violent turn yesterday when people from both the groups resorted to stone-pelting and firing resulting in the death of one person identified as Amrish.
Sukhbir, Islam and two others have been injured in the clash and they have been admitted to the hospital.
"A case has been registered against both the groups and investigation is on. Some people have been taken into custody for interrogation," SSP Omkar Singh said.
