Two youths were beaten up and seriously injured by the family members of their lovers at Mathania village in West Midnapore district of Bengal today.
Police said the two youths, who were in love with two sisters had scaled the boundary wall and entered the girls' room in the early hours of the day.
Enraged over this the girls' father and elder brother tied up the two youths, called the neighbours and in their presence beat them up.
The two youths were grievously injured and admitted to a hospital in nearby Keshpur, where their condition was stated to be critical.
Later the girls' father and brother were arrested.
