The main opposition YSR Congress is all set to corner the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) led government on issues like land pooling for the proposed Andhra Pradesh state capital, during the budget session of the state Assembly set to begin tomorrow.

YSR Congress party sources said that the party would also raise other issues like farm loans waiver during the budget session of the AP Assembly which would begin with the customary address by AP Governor E S L Narasimhan from tomorrow.

YSR Congress Party MLA G Srikanth Reddy said that his party would also take up issues like the sanctioning of the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme during the session.

Meanwhile, the ruling TDP is gearing up to counter these challenges by claiming "positive reciprocation" by farmers on land pooling for the proposed Andhra Pradesh state capital at Tullur in Guntur district.

"We have decided to take up 12 important issues during the budget session. We are going to demand appropriate answers from the government on issues like forcible acquisition of land for the capital, farm loans waiver, loan waiver for Self Help Groups, special status for the state and insufficient budgetary allocations by the Union Cabinet," Srikanth Reddy told PTI.

He also said the drinking water situation in the state is in dire straits and the government needs to address it on a "war footing".

Incidentally, for the first time the Andhra Prdesh government would submit a full fledged budget for the year 2015-16.

According to political analysts, land pooling for capital city construction may become a bone of contention between the opposition and ruling parties.

YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had recently visited Tullur in Guntur District where the proposed capital is expected to come up.
