YSR Congress MPs, MLAs and various organisations addressed a huge gathering at Mydukur on Thursday, demanding that the AP state government maintain the 854-feet water level at Srisailam reservoir to cater to the needs of Rayalaseema regions's drought stricken districts.

They demanded that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) led AP government must supply water to cater to drinking and irrigation water needs of Kadapa and Kurnool districts.

Criticising the AP state government for taking decisions unilaterally and working to develop only a few districts, they alleged that drought-prone Rayalaseema region is intentionally being neglected.

They warned the AP state government that centralised development and intentional neglect of a region would surely lead to agitations.

They urged the government to take steps to provide water and develop the Rayalaseema region on par with other regions.
