YSR Congress party chief and AP assembly opposition leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has demanded that the Andhra Pradesh state government must pay Rs 5 lakh as ex-gratia for each death caused by viral fever.
He also demanded that those suffering from viral fever in Kothamajeru village must be provided special treatment by specialist doctors within a week, shortly after he visited the village in Challapalli mandal of Krishna district.
He expressed his condolences for families of the 18 deaths which occurred within two months due to viral fever in the village.

He said that so many people including children were admitted into hospital due to a viral fever epidemic, but the government failed to respond.
He said that AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu or AP Heath Minister K Srinivas had not visited the village so far, which is shameful.
He demanded that the AP CM must visit the village immediately and announce Rs 5 lakh as ex-gratia for 18 viral fever deaths.
If the AP CM failed to justice to Kothamajeru village within a week, the YSR Congress would raise the issue and start an agitation at the Krishna district collectorate, he said.
