YSR Congress and the Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) today extended support to the indefinite fast launched by leaders of Left parties in Andhra Pradesh against hike in power tariff since Saturday.

YSRC honorary president Y S Vijayamma visited the fasting Left leaders, including CPI(M) state secretary B V Raghavulu and his CPI counterpart K Narayana, to express her party's solidarity with them.

Telangana JAC Chairman M Kodandaram also called on the fasting leaders.

The main opposition TDP had already pledged its support to the Left leaders, whose demands include immediate roll back of the move to hike power tariff and stopping collection of fuel surcharge adjustment.

The Left parties have been organising rallies and sit-ins and other forms of protest at several places in the state over the power tariff hike.

The CPI(M) state secretary had suggested yesterday that other opposition parties co-ordinate with the Left to protest against the power issue if the Congress government failed to respond in another two days.
