YSR Congress Party today appealed its workers not to get disheartened over the Supreme Court's refusal to grant bail to its president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

"As a people's party, YSRCP will continue to stand by people and fight to find solutions to various issues dogging the people.

"I appeal to party leaders, cadres and the people to keep their composure and not get disheartened," the party's honorary president Y S Vijayamma said in a statement here.

"We are ready to face the by-polls, local body polls and even the Assembly elections at any point and we are confident of winning," she said, adding that the party "welcomed" the Supreme Court's decision.

The apex court today dismissed Jagan Mohan Reddy's bail plea in a corruption case, saying his release will hamper the investigation of the "high magnitude" case. The bench headed by justice P Sathasivam also said that the possibility of witnesses being influenced and evidence being tampered cannot be ruled out if he was released.
