YSR Congress Party today petitioned Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan seeking disqualification of its MP S P Y Reddy for joining the Telugu Desam Party, under the anti-defection rules.
Leader of Parliamentary Party of YSRCP and Nellore MP, M Rajamohan Reddy noted that S P Y Reddy was elected to Lok Sabha from Nandyal constituency of Andhra Pradesh on the ticket and symbol of YSRCP.
In a letter to the Speaker, he said it has been widely reported in both print and electronic media that S P Y Reddy had voluntarily given up membership of YSRCP to join TDP in the presence of its president N Chandrababu Naidu in New Delhi on May 25.
