With an eye on assembly polls, the city government today issued direction for speedy implementation of its ambitious kerosene-free Delhi scheme under which over 3.5 lakh BPL and poor families will get free LPG cylinders and gas stoves.
Food Supplies Minister Haroon Yusuf said he has told officials of his department to provide "top most" priority on implementation of the scheme.
Seemed unhappy over slow implementation of the scheme, he said 1.5 lakh families have already been provided LPG connections and he wants the department to cover all the beneficiaries within next couple of months.
