The screenplay, penned by Gormican, was the top-rated comedy on the 2010 Black List and the production of the film will start in November in New York, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Treehouse Pictures' Justin Nappi and Kevin Turen will produce the film with Scott Aversano and Andrew O'Connor.
"'Are We Officially Dating?' is a story about timing and your 20s and just how difficult it can be. We're thrilled to be teaming with Tom Gormican on his relatable script, which will resonate with a large audience," said Nappi in a statement.
