A former Bangladeshi minister and an adviser to opposition leader Khaleda Zia was today shot by unidentified attackers who also set his car on fire.
Reaz Rahman, the former state minister for foreign affairs, was shot when he was on his way back home from Zia's office at Gulshan area here, Shamsuddin Didar of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, said.
The attackers shot at his car in front of the Westin Hotel, The Daily Star reported.

Reaz was rushed to the United Hospital in Gulshan where physicians said he received four bullets in the backside of his waist and left leg.
Reaz had gone to meet Zia, who has been confined to her office for the last 11 days.
Lutful Kabir, deputy police commissioner of Gulshan division, said they were trying to arrest the attackers.
Zia's BNP has been unrelenting over the massive street protest launched to mark the first anniversary of the controversial January 5 elections it had boycotted demanding a neutral caretaker government to oversee the polls.
