Zinc, copper prices rise on global cues

Prices of zinc and copper firmed up by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market today amid a firm global trend.

Traders said sentiments turned better after zinc rose in global markets on fall in its stockpiles monitored by the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Meanwhile, zinc for delivery in three months gained 0.3 per cent to USD 2,183 a tonne on the LME.

In the national capital, zinc ingot and copper mixed scrap were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 116-122 and Rs 410 per kg respectively.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 116-122, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 1,055-1,060, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 410, Chadri deshi Rs 285.
 

Lead ingot Rs 99, Lead imported Rs 100, Aluminium ingots Rs 158, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 159, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 161 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 158.
