Zinc edges up on scattered demand

Zinc prices inched up by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today due to mild demand from consuming industries.

However, other base metals traded in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders attributed the rise in zinc prices to some demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market.

In the national capital, zinc ingot traded higher by Rs 2 to Rs 102-108 per kg.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 102-108, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 820-825, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 360, chadri deshi Rs 295.
 

Lead ingot Rs 87, lead imported Rs 93, aluminium ingots Rs 158, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 154, aluminium wire scrap Rs 154 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 152.
