Press Trust of India New Delhi

Zinc prices fell by 90 paise at Rs 184.25 per kg in futures trade on Thursday as speculators cut bets, driven by easing demand at spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for October delivery moved down by 90 paise, or 0.49 per cent, at Rs 184.25 per kg in a business turnover of 1,705 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in November traded lower by 95 paise, or 0.51 per cent, at Rs 186.80 per kg in 69 lots.

Analysts said, offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from consuming industries at physical market mainly weighed on zinc prices in futures trade here.
