Zinc prices fell by 1.01 per cent to Rs 180.45 per kg in futures market Monday as speculators cut bets amid weak trend at domestic spot market on muted demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in September declined by Rs 1.85, or 1.01 per cent, to Rs 180.45 per kg in business turnover of 479 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in October moved down by Rs 1.75, or 0.95 per cent, to Rs 181.65 per kg in 34 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in zinc prices at futures trade to a weak trend at domestic spot market on tepid demand from consuming industries.
