Zinc down by 0.2% on subdued demand

Speculators reduced positions amidst sluggish domestic demand and weak global trend

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc futures fell by 0.16% to Rs 128.55 per kg as speculators reduced positions amidst sluggish domestic demand and weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc prices for delivery in April eased by 20 paise, or 0.16%, to Rs 128.55 per kg in a business turnover of six lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in current month traded lower by 10 paise, or 0.08%, to Rs 127.85 per kg in 313 lots.

Market analysts said the fall in zinc prices in futures trade was due to sluggish domestic demand in the spot market amidst a weak trend in select base metals at the London Metal Exchange.
