Zinc down 0.3% on subdued demand, weak global cues

Metal prices for delivery in current month traded lower by 0.22%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc futures fell 0.26% to Rs 135.20 per kg today as speculators reduced positions amid sluggish domestic demand and weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in February eased by 35 paise, or 0.26%, to Rs 135.20 per kg in a business turnover of six lots.

Likewise, the metal prices for delivery in current month traded lower by 30 paise, or 0.22%, to Rs 134.40 per kg in 188 lots.

Market analysts said the fall in zinc prices in futures trade was due to sluggish domestic demand in the spot market amidst a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange.
