Zinc down 0.3% on global cues

Speculators reduced their positions amid a weakening trend in base metals

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Amid a weak trend in base metals in global markets, zinc futures traded 0.30% lower at Rs 134.20 per kg today as speculators reduced their positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in February eased by 40 paise, or 0.30%, to Rs 134.20 per kg in a business turnover of 10 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in January contracts fell by 25 paise, or 0.29%, to Rs 133.50 per kg in 311 lots.

Marketmen said the weakness in zinc at futures trade was mostly due to a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange amid low global demand concern.
