Zinc down 0.4% on subdued demand

Marketmen said besides low demand at domestic spot markets, a weak trend in base metals at the LME, put pressure on the metal

Zinc futures prices today fell 0.42% to Rs 141.90 per kg, taking weak cues from the global markets amid low demand at domestic spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in August traded lower by 60 paise, or 0.42%, to Rs 141.90 per kg with a business turnover of 1,291 lots.

The metal for delivery in September fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 142.10 per kg in a turnover of 254 lots.

Marketmen said besides low demand at domestic spot markets, a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange, put pressure on zinc futures prices here.
