Zinc prices down by 0.6% on global cues

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc prices fell by 0.57% to 104.55 per kg in futures trade today after speculators lightened their positions, tracking a weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in the current month declined by 60 paise, or 0.57%, to Rs 104.55 per kg, in a business turnover of 495 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in January next year softened by 55 paise, or 0.52%, to Rs 105.60 per kg in 109 lots.

Analysts said the weakness in zinc at futures trade was mostly attributed to a weak trend in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Globally, zinc prices were down by 0.40% at the LME.
