Zinc prices drifted by 1.05 per cent to Rs 103.45 per kg in futures trade in evening session today, as participants reduced their exposure, considering a weak global trend.

The exchange opened for the evening session as it remained closed in the morning for 'Gurunanak Jayanti'.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in November month fell by Rs 1.10, or 1.05 per cent to Rs 103.45 per kg in business turnover of 3471 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in December contracts traded lower by Rs 1.10, or 1.04 per cent to Rs 104.50 per kg in 239 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in zinc futures to a weak a trend in the base metals pack in the global market amid concerns over Chinese demand.
