Zinc futures edged lower by 0.21% to Rs 140.75 per kg today as speculators reduced positions amid weak cues from overseas markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October shed 30 paise, or 0.21%, to Rs 140.75 per kg, with a business turnover of 223 lots.
The metal for delivery in November fell by a similar margin to Rs 141.50 per kg in a turnover of 3 lots.
Marketmen said weakness in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange as strengthening dollar reduced demand for the industrial metals kept pressure on zinc futures.
