Zinc down 0.2% on weak overseas trend

Marketmen said weakness in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange as strengthening dollar reduced demand for the industrial metals kept pressure on zinc

Zinc futures edged lower by 0.21% to Rs 140.75 per kg today as speculators reduced positions amid weak cues from overseas markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October shed 30 paise, or 0.21%, to Rs 140.75 per kg, with a business turnover of 223 lots.

The metal for delivery in November fell by a similar margin to Rs 141.50 per kg in a turnover of 3 lots.
