Press Trust of India New Delhi
Tracking a weak global trend, zinc futures traded 0.48 per cent lower at Rs 125.15 per kg today after speculators cut down their positions.

In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery this month declined 60 paise, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 125.15 per kg. It clocked a business turnover of 1,291 lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in June softened by 60 paise, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 125.85 per kg in 19 lots.

Market analysts said weakness in zinc futures trade was mostly due to a falling trend in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange after signs of flagging global economic growth rekindled demand concerns.

Besides, a muted demand at domestic spot markets too weighed on the metal prices, they said.
