Zinc futures gain 0.75% on spot demand

Zinc prices edged higher by 0.75 per cent to Rs 154.25 per kg in futures market today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

Zinc for delivery in September month inched up by Rs 1.15, or 0.75 per cent to Rs 154.25 per kg in business turnover of 11,089 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange,

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in October contracts was trading higher a similar margin to Rs 154.60 per kg in 2,246 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in zinc futures to fresh positions created by participants due to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
