Zinc futures gain on uptick in demand

Zinc prices rose 70 paise to Rs 185.90 per kg in futures trade on Monday as traders built up fresh positions amid increase in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for October delivery traded higher by 70 paise, or 0.38 per cent, at Rs 185.90 per kg in a business turnover of 1,214 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in November edged up by 80 paise, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 188.70 per kg in 109 lots.

Trading on the MCX was closed till 1700 hrs on Monday on account of Maharashtra Assembly elections.
