Zinc futures today edged 0.07 per cent higher to Rs 209.60 per kg as speculators created positions, triggered by a firm trend in the domestic spot markets on industrial demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in current month moved up by 15 paise, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 209.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 444 lots.

The metal for delivery in April also edged higher by a similar margin to quote at Rs 210.25 per kg in a business volume of eight lots.

Marketmen said widening of bets by participants, following improved demand in the domestic spot market, influenced zinc prices in futures trade.
